Federal Govt Appointments: The Grand Conspiracy Against Ijaws Is Unacceptable, You Are Undermining Our Efforts For Securing Peace And The Increase Of Crude Oil Production, Niger Delta Group Warns President Tinubu
…Says Mr President Should Appoint Ijaws In His Govt As The Major Crude Oil Production Stakeholders In The County
The Ijaw Nation is the major Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta – covering Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and Akwa Ibom States in Nigeria with a population of more than 6 million inhabitants as the major crude oil production areas. Sadly, the Ijaw Nation has never enjoyed a commensurate reward from its Natural Resources that are designated as “National Cake/Nation Budget” that is used to develop other parts of the country at the detriment of Ijaw Areas.
According to Comrade Miebi, “Ijaws have continued to serve as the mouthpiece and sacrificial lamb in the struggle for the emancipation of Niger Delta region.
Ijaws are hospitably, resilience and peace loving people in nature despite several attempts to undermind, malign, blackmail and provocative conspiracy, we remain peaceful and supportive to others.
“It is time for we the Ijaws to prioritize self preservation as against the lifestyle and practices of self sacrifice for our common good and for the betterment of the Ijaw nation, “she said.
“Reacting to the recent appointments by President Tinubu into Federal Boards, “The woman leader of the Movement for the Survival of the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND), Comrade Miebi Andakuro described the President’s appointments as a deliberate grand conspiracy against the Ijaws over other Ethnic Nationalities in the Niger-Delta region.
“How can the President make several appointments into Federal Boards without considering the major ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta region (Ijaws ), “she ask?
From the recent appointments made by President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, there is no single Ijaw man or woman that is considered for appointment, unless the only Ijaw man appointed is Chief D. J Kekemeke from Ondo State as the Chairman of Nigeria Postal Service.
“We ask, “What is the sin or offense of the Ijaws of Niger Delta against the President Tinubu’s Administration?
From those appointed from the Niger Delta region – Rivers State 2 (Ogonis), Edo State 2, Cross Rivers 1, Delta 1. It’s clear that the present President Tinubu’s Administration is not favourable to the Ijaw people of the Niger Delta region.
“We see and feel the deliberate attempt to undermind and silence the Ijaws, that have worked tirelessly to restore the peace in the Niger Delta that has facilitated the increase in crude oil production in the Country.
“The woman leader of MOSIEND Abuja Chapter and chairman, Comrade Debekeme Solomon the medium to call on Ijaws to jettison the spirit of sacrificing and destroying our public officers, nothing that other public officers from other Ethnic Nationalities are not qualified or better than ours morally.
“It will be a great thing we stop distracting our public officers with petitions, protest, blackmail and other antagonizing tendencies that would not distract them in order for them to focus and concentrate in their mandate for our common good and for the betterment of our Ijaw nation.
“Ijaws should work together in unionism against the grand conspiracy against the Ijaw nation. It is also important for every Ijaw man and woman to always know that we are treated as an endangered spices. It’s so because those sharing, appropriating, converting, diverting and embezzling our commonwealth and patrimony will never allow the Ijaws to be united at any point in time, they may put up formidable resistance like in the past. But we have to be united and defect the enemies of progress.
This is the time for Ijaws to speak in one voice despite our political affiliations and difference, and not to be silent in the face of provocative attempts to sideline the tribe that feed the nation.
Let us stand for our public officers, no matter the political divide and difference for our common good and for the betterment of our dear Ijaw nation.
