Uzum Harps On Needs For Continuous Capacity Building, Says Deltans Are Talented People

Asaba, Director-General of the Delta State Orientation Bureau, Barrister Eugene Azuka Uzum, has affirmed that mental capacity of the people is necessary for the growth of the society.

Barrister Uzum stated this during the flag off ceremony of the ICT Training Centre, organised by the Oshimili South Local Government Council in Asaba.

The orientation helmsman maintained that Delta State had been in the lead in virtually all human endeavours in the country owing to the indubitable capacity of many Deltans, citing Jim Ovia and Tony Elumelu as banking prodigies as well as I- go- dye and Gordons in the comedy industry of the country.

He particularly singled out the governor of the state, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as a quintessential personality who had through his mercurial leadership and managerial capacity pulled out the state from drowning during the economic downturn in the country, adding that not only should Governor Okowa serve as a role model to Deltans, and indeed Nigerians, but that his methodology in governing the state should be closely studied by upcoming politicians in the state and beyond.

The orientation boss enjoined residents in the local government area and beyond to take full advantage of the ICT training centre towards the enhancement of their knowledge in modern ICT modules, just as he commended the chairman of the council, Honourable Uche Osadebe, for his vision and establishment of the training centre .
