MOSIEND Calls For The Immediate Dissolution Of The Newly Constituted Interim NDDC Management Board, Says Senate Should Monitor The Activities Of Akpabio

There is no provision for Interim Management Board in the NDDC act

Faults the overbearing stand of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs

The Movement for the Survival of the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality has called for the immediate dissolution of the the newly constituted Interim Management Committee of NDDC in there emergency meeting in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa state

Says There is nothing like Interim Management Committee in the act that establish the interventionist agency.

Speaking with the journalists, “The National Secretary, Amb. Winston Coterrel Amain frowns at the overbearing attitude of the arrogance of the Minister of Niger Delta Affair, Senator Godswill Akpabio

“The Niger Delta Youth activist asserts that there is no provision for an Interim Management Committee but because Akpabio is playing the script of Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State.

In his words despite Mr President forwarded the names of the nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation “Akpabio went ahead to constitute an Interim Management Committee with a plot to undermine the leadership of the opposition party, the APC in the Bayelsa State because of the forthcoming Gubernatorial elections in the state.

MOSIEND further warns that NDDC should not be used for political settlement and rivalry.

The Peace Ambassador also vowed that MOSIEND will not fold its hands to allow Gov. Seriake Dickson and Senator Godswill Akpabio to use NDDC for their political gimmicks.

“We wholeheartedly support the plan by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari to carry out a forensic audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

However, MOSIEND insists that the Interim Management Committee be disbanded with immediate effect and the newly screened board members be inaugurated for the interest of peace and stability in the oil rich region.

MOSIEND advice the IYC President, Barr. Peretubo Oweilaemi to always speak for the interest of people that elected him as their leader.

Speaking further, Amb. Amain stated that MOSIEND will not relent in the advocation for the development of the oil rich Niger Delta region.
