Ijaw Nation Condemns The Killing Of Mrs Funke Olakurin, Urge Security Agencies To Bring Perpetrators To Book

The national publicity secretary elect of Ijaw Nation Congress, INC, Engr Izonebi Oyakemeagbegha has join thousands of people to condemned the killing of Mrs Funke Olakurin, the daughter of the national leader of the Yoruba Pan-Socio Cultural group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, who was reportedly shot on Friday along the Kajola-Ore road in Ondo State by those the police described as bandits.

The INC national publicity secretary elect, Engr Oyakemeagbegha condemned the dastard act perpetrated by unidentified elements stressing that the death of Mrs Funke Olakurin is one too many perpetrated by disgruntled elements across the country.

He emphasized how such an act can cause disunity among a multicultural nation like Nigeria. In his words Engr Oyakemeagbegha noted that the security nature in the country is near collapsing and need urgent turn around and effectiveness among the the people saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that lives and properties are secured.

Engr Oyakemeagbegha further expressed that the nation is sitting on a gun powder where ethnic nationalities are finding a way of rendering their voice of inclusiveness in the affairs of the nation.

He expressed how quick the security agencies are to point out fingers on presumed perpetrators but not nipping the condemnable and repetitive act to bud.

Today it has happened to a known person, but on daily basis such act is been carried out on unarmed citizens of this great nation.

According to the publicity secretary elect of Ijaw National Congress, INC, all our roads are unsafe, we now sleep with one eye open on daily basis, “he added.

He further commiserate with the family and friends of the deceased, and pray God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

According to Engr Oyakemeagbegha, on behalf of the Ijaw nation, “I expressed my sincere heartfelt condolence to the family of the deceased.”
