DG Of Gov. Okowa Reelection, Funkekeme Lauds Media Community For Support

Asaba: Rt. Hon. (Chief) Funkekeme Solomon organised a Media Round Table at his office in Asaba, Delta State on the 22nd of April, 2019. He used the forum as the Director-General of the Delta State PDP Campaign Council to thank the media community in the State on behalf of the Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for their professional reportage during the just concluded general elections in Delta State.

High point of the occasion is the media interactive session where questions bordering on governance, security and ethnic cohesion among Deltans were asked, while Chief Funkekeme Solomon in his capacity as the Director-General of the Delta State PDP Campaign Organisation together with the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Mr. Charles Aniagwu answered all the questions to the admiration of the media.

Hon. Funkekeme Solomon appeal to the media community both public and private institutions to extend the media coverage to the rural communities in the State, especially the riverine areas which are difficult to assess. It was agreed by all the media institutions present at the Round Table that, henceforth they will send pressmen to the rural areas in order to get a community news from the areas who need government’s attention more than the urban areas.

It was indeed a huge success as Hon. Solomon brought his intellectual prowess to bear by engaging the media community in such productive ventures which ultimate goal is to engender good governance, peace and security in Dr. Okowa’s Government as well as promoting ethnic harmony and cohesion among Deltans in a post-election era.
