Biakpara Speaks On The Forthcoming South South Councillors Forum Conference On National Security

…Says the South South Zonal Conference of the National Councillors Forum of Nigeria will hold in Asaba from October 15th to 17th, 2019

The Chairman of Councillors Forum of Nigeria South-South zone and majority leader of the Burutu Local Government Legislative Arm, Hon. Pudiya Biakpara disclosed this while briefing the press of the activities of the conference in Asaba.

Hon. Pudiya Biakpara, represents Ward 3 in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state.

According to Hon Biakpara, the theme of the conference is “National Security.”As Representatives of the people in the grassroot, we are so concerned about the growing insecurity across the country.

“Insecurity is taking a negative toll on our national unity and economy, according to the majority leader, without peace and security there will be no meaningful development in the country, especially the people living in the rural areas which we represent, hence we the Councillors of the South South have come up with this conference that centers on National Security as a proactive step in promoting peace and national unity for rapid social economic development in the country.

The lawmaker said, the conference is to address the security challenges bedevilling the country and proffer practical solutions and recommendations.

“The keynote address is to be delivered by Hon. Tonye Timi (PhD). A seasoned administrator, presently the Education Consultant to the State Government, former Commissioner in Delta state and former member Delta state House of Assembly with a vast knowledge on National Security matters.

On her part, the Councillor representing Ikpa Nung Assang 2 and Leader of Ikot Abasi Legislative Council in Akwa-Ibom state, Hon. (Mrs) Dorothy Richard Philip commended Delta state for hosting the conference stressing that the conference will be a blessing to the country because at the end of the conference, we will identify the security challenges bedeviling the country and it’s sources in the locality and proffer solutions and recommendations for lasting peace and a prosperous Nation.
