The National Coordinator of Niger Delta Progressive Women Worldwide, Comrade Miebi Andakuro has admonish the Minister of Petroleum (State), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri Ph.D, to continue to keep his good relationship with President Tinubu, Nigerians and Bayelsans in general noting that, Bayelsans need him and proud of his achievements over the years.
According to the national coordinator, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri Ph.D is a Household Name in the politics of Bayelsa State. He was born to the Family of Chief October Lokpobiri on the 3rd of March 1967 at Ekeremor Town, Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
He completed his Secondary School at the Prestigious Government Secondary School Borokiri, Port Harcourt, where he obtained his WAEC, he later proceed to the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, where he obtained his First Degree in Law (LL.B). After graduation, he attended the Nigeria Law School and obtained his call to Bar Certificate.
Driven by his thirst for knowledge, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri further his education at the Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Master Degree in Law and a Doctorate Degree in Philosophy (Ph.D).
Throughout his educational career, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri attended various Seminars and Courses – The Oxford High Performance Leadership Program. Program on the United States Election System, Executive-Legislature Relationship, and Effective Legislative Performance in the United States of America.
After preparing for future leadership, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri ventured into Public and Private Sectors. During his NYSC days, he served as a Pupil’s Counsel at Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State.
From 1999-2003, he was elected to the represent Ekeremor Constituency 1, in the pioneer Bayelsa State House of Assembly, where he was elected as the “Pioneer Speaker” of the House.
Between 2007-2015, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri was elected into the Nigerian Senate, representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, were he made enviable and impactful contributions. In 2015, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri was appointed the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (State) by the then President Mohammadu Buhari. In 2023 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu again graciously appointed Senator Heineken Lokpobiri as Minister of Petroleum (State).
Recognized for his outstanding Academic and Professional Contributions, he has received several Awards and accolades from Prestigious Organizations, Nationally and Globally.
According to Comrade Miebi, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri expertise has earned him admiration across political divides noting that, these are testimonies for his enviable contributions and impacts as a seasoned politician and administrator.
The minister enviable and impactful acts are also felt in the Petroleum Industry Reform.
He is a humanitarian and philanthropist, through his advocacy against Youth Restiveness in the Niger Delta and Electoral Reform. Senator Heineken Lokpobiri was one time governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State.
Comrade Miebi describe Senator Heineken Lokpobiri as an embodiment of Excellence in every endeavors. From his legislative achievements to his philanthropic initiatives, he remain a Beacon of Hope and Progress unlike the fictional James Bond.

Since his assumption of office in 2023 as Minister, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri has demonstrated a unique approach leading to an improvement and major achievements in the Petroleum Industry, especially in the country’s production quota, peace and security, working tirelessly to restore the production capacity of the Nation Refineries. All this he does with the blend of actions towards ensuring peace and security of Host and Impacted Communities in the Petroleum value chain.
Reflecting on his “Inclusive Philosophy”, he always say “I don’t believe in religion or color for improvement in the “Petroleum Industry.” He is committed to helping all class of people.
