Our region, despite contributing significantly to the Nation’s Wealth, continues to struggle at the very bottom of underdevelopment and this is the time for us to redouble our call to ensure that we gain from the increase in oil and gas production in the Niger Delta Region.
According to Comrade Ebikeme Oweifabo (A.K.A Prof), the National Coordinator of the Niger Delta Frontiers, Civil Society Organization, “The money of the nation budget is coming from the Niger Delta Region, we the people of Niger Delta deserve due attention from President Tinubu and Federal Government for our huge contribution to the nation economy.
Speaking to newsmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Comrade Ebikeme said, “his organization is in support of the recent call by the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) calling on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Government to prioritize the Niger Delta Region Development due to the increase in oil and Gas Production.
“We are calling on all Stakeholders, Community, Traditional and Political Leaders to brace up their efforts to elevate the standard of living of our people, especially in our Rural Areas, who bear the burnt of Disastrous Environmental Consequences of Oil and Gas Extraction in our Region.
According to Comrade Ebikeme, “Apart from oil and gas, our region is also fortunate to be blessed with abundant Natural Resources, Fertile Soil, Ideal Climate and Energetic Youthful Population without Opportunities and Basic Amenities, he suggested that for the region to be Prosperous and secured for the future generations, there should be require “Collective Collaborative” efforts of all Stakeholders to ensure the development of the region.
He also call on the private sector to also partake in this collaborative efforts with their Technical and Commercial Advisory Services, by mobilizing Local Funds and Foreign Direct Investment Partners to promote, Support and Synergize for Developmental Projects.
“I call on the Federal Government on behalf of the Niger Delta Frontiers as a matter of urgency listen to the request of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) towards the Development of the Niger Delta Region,
“As a major stakeholder (Niger Delta Region) in the nation economy, “We are bound to benefit more from the increase in Oil and Gas Production as a result of the efforts of some commendable stakeholders, “he said.
